Ali is a UK-based writer, editor and consultant specialising in design and interiors. She has been a contributing editor at Wallpaper* and Dezeen for over a decade while also penning stories about creative projects, products, places and people for titles such as The Slowdown, The Design Edit, Elle Decoration, CNN Style, The Sunday Times Style and The Guardian.

Ali’s writing experience is combined with a strong knowledge of the design industry which allows her to help brands, studios and independent creatives find the words to tell their own stories by developing editorial strategies, tone of voice and content solutions. Most recently she helped to launch Curio, a digital destination for art, craft and design. As Acting Head of Content, she was responsible for creating clear and authoritative copy across all of the brand’s platforms and coordinating a team of international contributors.

She has previously served as interiors editor at leading trend authority WGSN where she spent three years helping to build and launch its lifestyle and interiors service. As well as overseeing all of the platform’s content, she delivered presentations at design events in the UK and South Africa and created bespoke content for private clients such as Aston Martin and Liberty.
Ali studied interior architecture at Oxford Brookes University but began her career in the design industry at furniture manufacturer and retailer SCP, where she spent four years as PR and projects manager. In 2012 she co-founded online store and design publication Lin Morris, through which she sold quietly brilliant, well-crafted products from around the world for over five years.
